How to Create an illustration from another image with Photoshop brushes and paths Check out this tutorial, a simple technique to create an interesting image, generated over another image, using brushes and Path tool.Check out this tutorial, a simple technique of "styling", that is, create an illustration of an image using brushes and Path tool. While most Photoshop users do not like the Path tool, it's worth using it in this method to achieve this result interesting.
So get to work!1) First, let select an image that does not need to have huge amount of detail (it will be only the basis of our illustration). The image chosen for this tutorial is a sports car with features very smooth and simple.
3) On the transparent layer, trace paths (paths) with the Pen tool over the contours of the image. Try to draw the lines in curves more striking image. In the case of this image, I chose to emphasize the fenders, headlights, wheels and windshield. It is important to keep the paths open, ie not create closed shapes, leave traces incomplete.
4) Now open a new layer between the transparent layer and the image layer and fill it with a radial gradient consisting of a dark blue going into the black. Select the Gradient Tool (hotkey G), choose the radial mode, right-click the tool in the middle of the file and drag the Gradient to the edges, so the blue tone in the center.
5) Choose a brush with hard edges. In the edit panel of brushes, Brush Tip Shape tab, place 1% in Spacing. In Size, decrease the size of the brush. In my example, I used 30px. Shape Dynamics tab, enable Pen Pressure in Control.
6) With the brush set, use the Direct Selection tool to select the paths. Then Paths panel menu, enable Stroke Path.
8) The Stroke Path panel will open. Select the Brush tool with the option Simulate Pressure activated, click OK The result will be similar to the example below.
9) To further enrich their illustration, again use the tool path in a layer above to create forms closed over the mudguard and the windshield so that accompany these forms part car parts where no light reflection.
10) After you have completed the forms, enable the selection of each of them individually, and apply, in every way, a gradient composed of white going to transparent. With this, we obtain the effect of depth and gloss over the image.
